Hello High Street Hero! Introducing your new hunting ground for stylish interiors on a budget
The Gold is a Neutral house is all about mixing high end with budget finds, and few things make me happier than discovering a previously untapped source of wallet friendly furnishings. This is one I was genuinely bowled over by and so felt duty bound to share the love and let you all know about it too. So, without further ado....iiiiiiiiiit's Argos!
Ok, if we're being really pedantic this one isn't new in the true sense of the word. But I'm willing to bet that it's news to you that Argos is home to some really gorgeous pieces for your home? Even better, the other half is less likely to moan if you swerve into Argos on the high street and you can make a cheeky purchase while he looks at power tools. Everyone's a winner!
I've pulled together some of my favourite pieces from across the range but if you are searching yourself I highly recommend the Collection for glamour, the Heart of Home ranges for a more eclectic style and the Hygena for Scandi minimalism.
At this point I want to clarify that this is in no way an ad. I just think you need to know about this. You can click on the links to buy or take a closer look.
That gold orbit Ceres light would look fabulous as a statement light in a hallway, bedroom or smaller living room, or even a cluster of three along a large kitchen island. At £39.99 it is an absolute steal.
The Harrison sofa (£769.99) is part of the Heart of House range and you can choose from a range of colours and fabrics via their Create Your Own offering.
And at £59.99 that copper plated side table with a smoked glass top is ideal. It also comes in a larger coffee table size for £119.99.
And how about this sexy little number...the shell backed velvet cocktail chair comes in au naturel mink, classic navy blue and blush pink and is an absolutely cracking find for anyone looking for an accent chair for their bedroom, or an unloved corner. Oh and the best bit...it's £129.99. Yes really! I think I'm going to have to get one.
Also on my lust list is the Aurelie Rose Gold Bed Frame which I would style against dark grey walls and a photographic floral wallpaper similar to the ones I wrote about here. There's a big range of bedding (this one here is £20.99 for a double)
If you're more of a boho girl at heart, the catalogue company's Heart of House Native Earth range is probably where you should be heading. That colourful geometric rug caught my eye at the press day, as did the cushions in bang on trend earthy terracotta tones. And there's that little side table again.
If you read this blog regularly I think it's pretty clear that I am in no way a minimalist. The Hygena range is all about functional living for small spaces and is ideal for a small space dweller or those who prefer a simple life. Having said that I loved these little Makwa side tables at £29.99 (particularly the matt black) and would style it up in more luxe surroundings as I talked about in this recent blogpost. I also saw a two seater version of this sofa in charcoal which is priced at £249.99. You really can't argue with that for a flat, office or student digs.
The last thing I wanted to flag up on this, by no means exhaustive list of Argos accolades, is this grey tufted upholstered Bed Frame at £349.99 and the blush pink marble bedding to match. The marble trend is showing no signs of slowing down and now you can snuggle down in it too.
So, what do you think? Are you impressed? There's loads more good stuff online if you can find the time to have a good nosy round. Or of course do it the old fashioned way and flick through the catalogue in store. I'll definitely be adding it to my shopping checklist from now on.
